Roll 21

Film: Kodak Portra

Lately I've found myself exclusively working with film when shooting portraits. I haven't brought my digital camera to my last few portrait shoots and it's been amazing. The freedom of bringing one camera, one lens, and just a couple rolls of film is liberating. It allows me to concertante more on composition.

Film isn't something to fear or be intimidated about. I use to be a bit scared of film, but in actuality I feel it's a bit easier. When using film there's actually a bit less to think about. After selecting your film you no longer have to worry about selecting the ISO, so all that is left is the shutter speed and aperture. The key is to make sure you meter your shots, especially when the light around you is changing.

Let me know which shot from the roll is your favorite!
